On 5 June 2026, ACT Infraport Ltd and Salamis Shipyards signed, an Agreement for Technical Collaboration the establishment of a Greenfield Ship Building and Ship Repair shipyard in the Gulf of Kutch, on the West Coast of India, following the MoU signed between the two parties earlier this year, on 23 January 2026.
The Agreement was signed at the premises of Salamis Shipyards on Salamis Island by the Chief Executive Officer of Salamis Shipyards, and the Managing Director of ACT , formalizing the framework for the parties’ technical collaboration. The signing ceremony was also attended by members of the management team of Propel Shipping Ltd Athens, a member of the ACT Group, which has played an instrumental role in bringing together ACT Infraport and Salamis Shipyards, while also supporting the development of their cooperation from its earliest stages.
The collaboration reflects the shared vision of establishing a globally competitive shipyard that adheres to international standards. The project aims to create a modern shipbuilding and repair facility equipped with advanced waterfront infrastructure, docking systems, berths, and supporting marine facilities. It emphasizes balance governance, whereby the developer retains overall responsibility while key technical decisions are undertaken in consultation with the technical partner to ensure the adoption of industry best practices.
With an initial term of five years, the collaboration is expected to contribute significantly to India’s maritime infrastructure development while leveraging Greek technical expertise. By combining local project execution capabilities with international shipbuilding knowledge, the partnership seeks to create a leading shipbuilding and ship repair hub that supports regional economic growth and enhances global maritime competitiveness.

Both parties have committed to implementing eco-friendly practices and ensuring compliance with applicable environmental regulations, thereby minimizing the project’s ecological footprint while promoting sustainable industrial growth.
