Salamis Shipyards deliver the first 2 Island-type patrol boats to the Navy

Salamis Shipyards Completed and Delivered the First 2 Island-Class Patrol Boats for the Hellenic Navy.

The company will participate in the EURONAVAL Defence Exhibition which will be held in Paris from November 4-7, 2024.

The delivery of the Island–Class Patrol boats is clear evidence that Salamis Shipyards and
the Greek shipbuilding industry have the capacity to complete such projects. The
completion of the program and the delivery of all four patrol boats are expected to take
place by the end of the year. The construction of the pre-outfitted blocks for the Greek and
French frigates for the FDI program with Naval Group is proceeding as per schedule.

On October 10 and 11, 2024, Salamis Shipyards successfully completed the reactivation and all
harbor and sea trials for the two first Island-class patrol boats, which are now docked at the
Salamis Naval Base, whilst works continue normally, on schedule and within budget, on the two
remaining Island boats, which are expected to be delivered within December 2024. This is an
important and demanding project that requires a combination of skills, as it is inherently complex, involving repair, reactivation, and upgrade works. Salamis Shipyards have been pioneers in similar projects in the past, and on that basis their selection by the United States Coast Guard to perform the Island project is totally justifiable.

Salamis Shipyards belong to a “niche” and rare category of shipyards, possessing high
specialization in complex and high-added-value projects that require advanced expertise and a comprehensive quality culture. These capacities, along with a history of successful deliveries of similar projects on time, within budget and to high quality standards, significantly distinguish them from other shipyards.

In parallel, the cooperation with Naval Group continues to be highly successful, as the construction of outfitted blocks for the Greek and French frigates of the FDI program (Belharra) is proceeding in line with the contractual timelines and budgets. The cooperation with Naval Group involves the
Shipyard’s’ participation in the construction of five blocks of the hull and superstructure for a total of up to six FDI frigates. In February 2024, Salamis Shipyards have delivered the five outfitted blocks of the third Greek FDI frigate, HN FORMION whilst the respective set of blocks for the second French frigate of the program was delivered in July. Furthermore, Salamis Shipyards have expanded their cooperation with Naval Group to the construction project of the third French frigate that follows.

Salamis Shipyards will participate in the EURONAVAL Defence industry exhibition in the context of
the Greek defence industry participation, which will take place in Paris from November 4 to 7,
2024.

Salamis Shipyards is a specially designed, modern, and flexible shipbuilding unit that has been active internationally in new constructions and specialized projects for over 40 years. They have
executed pioneering projects at both European and international levels in commercial shipping and defence for Greece and other NATO member states.

The shipment of pre-outfitted blocks of frigate HS Formion is an important industrial and symbolic milestone in the FDI program. Manufactured at the Salamis Shipyards in Salamina, they are now being transferred to the Naval Group Shipyard in Lorient for the next steps in the frigates’ production.

This milestone underlines the success of the strong and long-term partnership between Naval Group and the Greek Defence industry, which daily demonstrates its high level of skill and ability to provide very high-quality equipment and services. As the relevant announcement states, Naval Group is proud to include Greek partners in its global supply chain.
